# EMHASS & EMHASS-Add-on differences Users will pass parameters and secrets into EMHASS differently, based on what method your running emhass. (Add-on, Docker, Python) This page tries to help to resolve the common confusion between the different methods. ## Legacy Parameter definitions After EMHASS version:`0.10.6`, EMHASS has merged the parameter config from the legacy modes (`config_emhass.yaml` & `options.json`) to a central `config.json`. The resulting change saw a migration of the parameter naming conventions. *Many of the new parameter definitions seen in `config.json` are copied from the Add-on, however not all.* To simply convert
